This month’s Agent of the Month goes to Sven Andersen from RE/MAX Leading Edge in Winchester, MA. Sven was not only the Top Producing RE/MAX of New England Associate for the month of October but he was also the overall Top Producing RE/MAX of New England Associate from January 2009 – August 2009. Sven was also in the Top 100 Individual RE/MAX Associate in the Country Q1-Q3 2009! Sven has certainly found the right formula for success in the Real Estate Industry!
When we asked Sven what he contributes to his success, he replied “Focus on continuing to grow relationships with past clients and other real estate professionals in addition to just asking buyers to make offers and being creative with negotiating a win-win for buyers and sellers.” Also, not just following up on web leads but making sure to CONVERT any and all that have current needs. If they don’t, they get put into our drip campaign and will be “courted” until they buy/sell. Referral business is also a huge part of my business – by building relationships with other agents and by doing speaking opportunities I have been able to sustain a big referral business that is growing.”
Sven understands that it isn’t always a walk in the park; there are a lot of obstacles that stand in his way. ”Growing expense and focusing on trying to keep control of costs without sacrificing successful marketing approaches has been a challenge.” Sven has taken the approach to use existing tools that he already has in his hands and will not purchase other tools that don’t either make him money or save him money. He has been able to overcome obstacles by simply staying focused on what works. “One of the best things I do for myself is contacting other successful agents outside of the RE/MAX of New England network and sharing ideas with them. Leslie McDonell, a Top Producing Agent from Libertyville, IL has been my mentor and has been instrumental in how I have changed my business.” You need to focus on staying away from saying ‘that won’t work in my market.’ You need to embrace those ideas and find a way for it to work in your market. You just need to allocate your time to work in your business and on your business to find success.” The other resource that Sven finds invaluable is his team which consists of an in-house transaction/marketing manager and a virtual assistant (VA) team who handle many aspects of his marketing and non-client facing business processes. “Why try to learn something new when there are professionals that can handle it for you? As real estate professionals we should be client facing and delegate other non-client facing activities to your team.”
Looking ahead, Sven will be a moderator at the upcoming RE/MAX Collection Networking Group Meeting on December 1st at the Seaport Hotel in Boston, MA. He stated that he will focus on doing more web media marketing, focus on his website, www.NorthofBostonRealEstate.com, to generate and cultivate leads and will be leveraging video and his blog, Blog.NorthOfBostonRealEstate.com, to drive more traffic (buyers and sellers) to his site.
